There have been multiple rumors suggesting that Apple is preparing to launch two new iPads possibly on March 25, 2019.
It's been a while since Apple has updated the iPad mini. The last time we saw a refresh for the iPad mini was back in 2015 when apple modified the internals of the iPad mini 4. Apple is rumored to release in 2019 and multiple reliable sources have confirmed it's a new refresh on the existing iPad Mini.
With any new version of an Apple device, we can expect an upgraded processor. The new iPad Mini 5 could potentially have the A10 or the more powerful A10X processor. It's expected that they iPad Mini 5 will be similar to the current iPad Mini 4 to keep costs down. This means that it would have the same if not similar dimensions like the 6.1mm thickness, 7.9 inch display, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Although the exteriors will most likely remain the same, it seems unlikely the newest iPad mini will support the latest iteration of the Apple Pencil which was released back in October of 2018. The newer Apple Pencil supported a new charging method and a magnetic attachment. Other sources are citing that it will support the new Apple Pencil.
There is a high chance that the new iPad Mini will be priced similarly to the current iPad mini at $399. We can assume it will probably be priced somewhere in that range.
In addition to the refreshed iPad Mini, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts we can expect to see a 10.5 inch display iPad, instead of the standard 9.7 inch screen.
While most of this information is unconfirmed, we are still excited to see what Apple has to unveil near the end of March. We won't know for sure until makes the announcement.
