CES takes place each year in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Consumer Electronics Show is the largest trade show exhibiting more than 4,500 exhibiting companies showcasing the latest in consumer technology. From January 8-11, we got a view all of the latest and greatest ideas and products exhibitors had to showcase.
Some of the highlights of CES 2019 included lots of new features for smart technology such as smart controls, 5G, and health monitoring.
In automotive, we got to explore a lot of new electric cars and scooters that that showed a futuristic-looking dashboard. When paired with smart controls, it can really change the act of driving - that is until self-driving vehicles are perfected.
There was not too much unveiled on the smartphone industry this year at CES. Samsung did not showcase their rumored Infinity Flex Display (foldable phone). They did mention 5G and how and their plans to launch 5G smartphones in 2018 making a 5G enabled Galaxy S10 a possibility that could hit the market very soon. LG also mentioned plans to launch a 5G compatible phone later this year.
In wearable technology, we've seen an increasing trend of offering more features packed all into one watch with a lot of the features focusing on monitoring your health. Some of the new features not only monitor your heart rate but also your heart rhythm. We saw Apple launch an ECG app on the Apple Watch Series 4 to record your heartbeat and rhythm to check for any irregular rhythms. In addition to measuring your heart, lots of new wearable technologies include sleep trackers - some to even encourage you to induce snoring.
This year, we had the chance to exhibit on the show floor for the first time ever. Since we are a part of Targus, our parent company, we were able to exhibit on the show floor under their booth. There was a section just for SENA that displayed all of our current lineup, which includes the Kyla and Deen Collection.
Just recently, we launched also several universal leather products that are not device specific. We were proud to showcase our wallet trio collection, which consisted of a bi-fold wallet, slim card holder, and travel wallet. Additionally, we showed off our newly updated commuter bag made of premium and high-quality European leather.
Overall, it was a great experience being on the show floor to proudly display the products that we've worked so hard to bring to life. We'll have to wait until next year to see what will be showcased next year.
